The carbon management processes at Larnaka and Pafos International Airports have earned the accreditation level of OPTIMISATION, in recognition of the airport's exemplary work in managing and reducing its CO2 emissions and engaging other stakeholders to do the same, as part of the Global airport industry's response to the challenge of Climate Change.

Just six months after receiving the Level 3 ACA Certification, Hermes Airports acquired the fourth and highest level of the ACA Certification Level 3+ Neutrality (achieving net zero carbon emissions) for Larnaka and Pafos airports, which relates to the provision of compensation for carbon dioxide emissions. The ACA certification is comprised of four levels, which have so far been acquired by 274 airports in 71 countries, representing 44% of global air passenger traffic. The accreditation confirms the steady and long-term reduction of carbon dioxide emissions whilst at the same time confirms the occurrence of energy policy, strategy and an effective action plan aiming at further reduction of carbon dioxide emissions with specific targets.
