FROM LARNAKA AIRPORT
Brussels Airport: Around 30k passengers travelled on direct service between Brussels and Cyprus in 2021, whereas more than 10k passengers travelled via other airports. The O&D Larnaka-Brussels traffic is estimated to be 70k passengers during a normal year. Currently, there is limited seasonal direct service from Larnaka. The route’s traffic consists of people traveling for business in Brussels, leisure traffic from both ends as well as some VFR traffic.
Gdansk Airport: Poland is one of the markets that has seen great expansion during the last few years, with operation being added every year from various points in the country. Gdansk is one of the destinations that is considered underserved, with only two weekly seasonal flights from Larnaka airport.
Krakow Airport: Poland is one of the markets that has seen great expansion during the last few years, with operation being added every year from various points in the country. Krakow is one of the destinations that is considered underserved, with only two weekly seasonal flights from Larnaka airport. The route is served by both ends.
Hamburg Airport: Hamburg is one of the cities in Germany currently underserved from Cyprus with the limited operation (2 Weekly flights). Around 23k passengers travelled through other airports between Larnaka and Hamburg in 2019. This year the German market is expected to have a very good performance, with higher than the pre-pandemic period traffic numbers.
Hannover Airport: Hannover is one of the cities in Germany currently underserved from Cyprus with a limited operation (2 Weekly seasonal flights). Around 15k passengers travelled through other airports between Larnaka and Hannover in 2019. This year the German market is expected to have a very good performance, with higher than the pre-pandemic period traffic numbers.
FROM PAFOS AIRPORT
Belfast Airport: Belfast is currently served with only one weekly frequency out of Cyprus for the entire summer season. In the there were more than 20k passengers that travelled to Cyprus whereas it is considered that there is a great potential for more frequencies, due to the greater Belfast catchment area and the huge interest for inbound holidays to Cyprus.
Bratislava Airport: Bratislava is considered to be underserved as there are only two weekly frequencies whereas there is no direct service between Larnaka and Bratislava. In the pre-pandemic period, more than 65k passengers travelled between Cyprus and Bratislava, more than 80% of whom were O&D traffic. It is considered a good opportunity for penetrating the market.
