Express Lane Terms & Conditions

 

1    Parties and nature of these terms and conditions.
1.1    In these terms any reference to:

a) "HERMES AIRPORTS" is to Hermes Airports Limited whose registered office is at Larnaka International Airport, 6650, P.O. Box 43027, Larnaka, Cyprus; and

b) "you" and "your" refer to any person who is deemed by HERMES AIRPORTS to have made a booking.

1.2    These terms and conditions shall apply to all bookings made through Hermes Airports website for Express Lane access to the security area at Larnaka International Airport (“Airport”). The purchase of Express Lane tickets, does not entitle you to bypass the security procedures that are applicable at the Airport and you will be subject to the same security procedures and regulations that are applicable to the passengers who will be using the standard queue lane.

1.3    The Express Lane service is designed to enable those who have made a valid Express Lane booking to be granted access to the Express Lane in the passenger security area indicated by the Express Lane logos at the Airport. Use by you of the Express Lane service in accordance with such a valid Express Lane ticket does not guarantee that you will not have to wait in a queue but that HERMES AIRPORTS will use reasonable endeavours to keep queuing times to a minimum. HERMES AIRPORTS shall not be liable for any delays in provision of the Express Lane service. 

Important: All passengers departing from the Airport are subject to the same rigorous security checks whether they use the Express Lane service or the standard queue lane.

1.4    Each booking shall constitute a contract which shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Cyprus. The date and time of the contract will be deemed as the date and time appearing on the booking confirmation.

1.5    Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully as they contain some exclusions and limitations of liability.

 

2    Purchase and payment – general

2.1    A booking is deemed to have been placed when made electronically through the HERMES AIRPORTS website and you receive the ticket and booking confirmation.

Payment for the booking must be made immediately in Euros using your Mastercard, Visa Debit, Visa and Credit. Please note that this list of methods of payment is accurate at the date of publication of these Terms and Conditions but might change thereafter.

2.2    Important: There is a limit on the number of Express Lane tickets which are available per booking process. Specifically, you can only book up to ten (10) Express Lane tickets during one booking process.

2.3 All prices quoted are in Euros. All transactions, made with either local or foreign cards, are processed in Euro. Any currency conversion charges that may be applied by the card issuer will be at your cost.

2.4 If your card payment is rejected then your booking will not be fulfilled or validated. In the meantime, HERMES AIRPORTS shall be entitled to accept Express Lane bookings or pre-bookings from other persons and if this leads to you no longer being able to book the Express Lane service due to unavailability of bookings or any other reason, HERMES AIRPORTS shall be under no liability to you for failure to provide to you, or to any other person you wish to include in your Express Lane booking this service.

2.5 HERMES AIRPORTS reserve the right not to accept a booking if it is not completed in any way or where payment has been made fraudulently, or without the cardholder’s permission. 


3    Express Lane booking

3.1    Important: Prior to accessing the passenger security area you must present your ticket with the barcode number for scanning at the designated area. If you do not present your ticket for scanning  HERMES AIRPORTS shall have the right not to permit you or any other person in respect of whom the booking is made to use the Express Lane service, you shall not be entitled to a refund and HERMES AIRPORTS shall incur no liability as a result of such refusal.

3.2    All prices shown are in Euro and include VAT at the current rate. The standard charge applies to each passenger using the Express Lane service including infants and children.

3.3    Important: Should you fail to turn up, for whatever reason, you will not be entitled to a refund or substitution of your ticket and HERMES AIRPORTS shall incur no liability.

3.4    It is your responsibility to arrive at the airport at the required time in advance of your flight as stated by the airline with whom you have booked your flight and to ensure sufficient time for you to arrive at your departure gate prior to the boarding time stated by the airline. Where despite making an Express Lane booking you choose not to use the Express Lane service but to use the standard service instead you will not be entitled to a refund. The use of the Express Lane service does not guarantee that you will not have to wait in a queue therefore you should make sure that you arrive at the airport early in order to reach the departure gate prior to the boarding time set by the airline.


4    Use of the Ticket

The barcode on the ticket needs to be scanned at the entry point of the Express Lane. The ticket is for one use only. 


5    No refunds for cancellations or any other reason or changes to Express Lane bookings

This is a service with limited availability and no refunds shall be made in respect of the Express Lane pre-booking service should you cancel your booking, turn up late and miss your booked time or for any other reason. 

 

6    Force Majeure

6.1    HERMES AIRPORTS shall not be liable for any failure to provide the Express Lane service or for any cancellation, curtailment or otherwise caused by reason of war or threat of war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, mechanical or systems failures of whatever nature, natural and nuclear disaster, fire, flood, explosion, earthquake, adverse weather conditions or technical problems to transport, any late or delayed personal transport, taxi, bus or other transport services used by you in travelling to the airport, closure or congestion of airports, cancellation or changes of schedules by airlines, and all similar events beyond its control. Further HERMES AIRPORTS cannot accept responsibility where the performance or prompt performance of this contract with you is prevented or affected as a result of any circumstances beyond HERMES AIRPORTS’s or your control.

 

7    HERMES AIRPORTS liability

7.1    HERMES AIRPORTS entire liability to you is set out in this paragraph 7.

7.2    HERMES AIRPORTS shall not be liable for any death or personal injury or loss or damage or consequential damage of any nature whatsoever that may be suffered or sustained by you or any other person who is travelling with you. Nothing in these terms and conditions limits HERMES AIRPORTS liability in the case of death or personal injury caused by HERMES AIRPORTS negligence or that of any of its employees in the course of their employment.

7.3    HERMES AIRPORTS shall not be liable to you for any damage caused to your property unless caused directly by HERMES AIRPORTS negligence and in such event HERMES AIRPORTS liability shall not exceed the amount of the paid Express Lane ticket per claim or series of related claims.

7.4    Other than as set out above HERMES AIRPORTS does not accept any liability for any claim in contract, tort or otherwise.

 

8    Severability

If any of the provisions of these Terms and Conditions shall be declared invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part by any competent court or other authority whose decisions shall have the force of law binding on the parties, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

 

9    Amendment

HERMES AIRPORTS reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the Terms and Conditions regularly to ensure that you are aware of any amendments.
