On September 1st 2013, Thomson's Dreamliner Boeing 787 arrived from Manchester to Larnaka International airport for the first time. Hermes Airports Ltd in collaboration with the Cyprus Tourism Organisation organised events, at both the Departures area as well as the Arrivals area in order to welcome the Dreamliner to Cyprus. The passengers of the Dreamliner had a warm welcome under the sounds of traditional Cypriot music whilst they had the opportunity to try local dishes and wines. Similar events took place at Pafos International Airport during the arrival of the Dreamliner on September 4th 2013.
